Production Week 4

Down to business.....

Im planning to film the entire sequence on the weekend, but instead of playing the Wii the entire week, I have been creating the CGI parts to the film and not only that, I finally have finished my intro.

Ive got a mate who does music, from London, I visited him to talk about my project. It has come to this, he will design all of the sounds, from foley to digital, as long as I buy him a pint (sounds easy, went to the pub in pekham to find out ITS FOUR FIFTY A PINT!!!) No wonder he would do it for that..

Anyways I have compiled my Intro to my movie. Enjoy..

Production Week 3

Research:

I have compiled my research into different areas, computer games, films, books etc.

This is what I am trying to capture as a game trailer. A teaser, to make the audience more interested into the whole experience.

Im using this as an example of my research because I want to involve a First Person Atmosphere to really put people into the movie as well as building a computer game scene.

I will also be researching into books and other types of media

Production Week 2

The Treatment (May be adjusted in the future due to storyboard adjustments)

The research will be scary/thriller movies and computer games to construct a first person thriller experience.
Much of the research will be from computer games themselves to build this essence of first person thriller action to make the audience feel part of the scene. I will also try to add some graphic enhancements to give a computer game feel and to create more of a game trailer idea.
The movie will be a slow pace, feeling the character’s every emotion, breath and heartbeat as the character explores the chilling hallway. The hallway will be flickering/broken light effect and random single frame shot of a scary masked character in the distance, first person shot hands will appear to support the characters staggering pace through the hallway to build the first person feel. The slow approach to the end of the hallway towards a door, as the heartbeat gets stronger and faster, with respiratory action increasing.
The next scene will involve a shot of the characters hand reaching out to open the door and enter, to find the scary character on its knees facing a wall, covered in blood. The camera will pan around the character (heart-rate increasing to full and breathing heavily) arms will reach out towards the bloody characters face to pull of its mask. Sudden shriek of noise to black, which will queue to the end.
The sounds created will be human and mechanical from objects and voice, which may even help support/create sound track.
The camera techniques will be ranging from shots from camera attach to headwear to give off the first person view to trick shots and still frame to create a poltergeist. Milkshape, Final Cut and After effects software will be used to support the computer game essence and to also keep it realistic for a movie.
This movie will relate to computer game fans as well as movie buffs, because the research involved with this creation is ranging from computer game titles such as F.E.A.R, Resident Evil, Stalker of Chernobyl and even from movies like The Ring, Shutter, Blair witch project. The research will also extend to some novels, many of Stephen king’s, to entice book readers. This will be the ultimate challenge, as movies can never compare to literature.

I have decided to use Picture 2 of the selection (a.k.a Masks):



This, I feel, offers more for potential in a film creation for me.
I'm going to create a computer game trailer spoof, with a thriller theme to it. (Basically a masked scary person)
